Dr. Mogge is the owner and sole proprietor of JWMogge Consulting LLC. He and is also a contract associate of the AHC Group and a courtesy faculty member of the USF Patel College of Global Sustainability. In his part time capacity with AHC he helps AHC corporate clients address their sustainability and environment, social and governance challenges. His Patel College course focuses on preparing graduate students to deliver sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions for the built environment.
Dr. Mogge previously served as one of Jacobs’ senior Solutions and Technology Directors, the Global Environmental Market Director, the Environment, Facilities and Nuclear Sales Director and the Interim President for the legacy ch2m Environment, Facilities, and Nuclear Business Group. His 2004 doctoral work was driven by his belief that the governmental entities and industries of the built environment must transform and become orders of magnitude more resource efficient. His Georgia Institute of Technology dissertation examined the economics of sustainable planning, design, and construction.
Dr. Mogge is a past National President of the Society of American Military Engineers, the largest and oldest professional society in the United States. Dr. Mogge is a 1996 Fellow of the Society and the past-founding President of the Society’s Foundation and the Society’s 2019 Gerald Brown Mentoring Award recipient and the Society’s 2020 Gold Medal recipient. In 2020 Dr Mogge was recognized by the Environmental Business Journal International with their annual lifetime achievement award. He is a USAF Colonel and retired from active duty in 2001 and retired from Jacobs Engineering in January of 2022.
