In celebration of 2026 Engineering Week, the Center for Infrastructure Renewal (CIR) hosted two student and researcher focused events on Friday, February 27, 2026, highlighting research excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
Engineering Week Student Celebration
The day began with the CIR Engineering Week Student Celebration, which brought together students for a morning of fun, games, and socialization. The event provided an opportunity to recognize the creativity and dedication of CIR‑affiliated students while strengthening connections across the engineering community. This celebration set the stage for an afternoon focused on honoring student accomplishments and highlighting the impact of their work.
Student Research Showcase (SRS)
Following the celebration, CIR hosted the 3rd Annual Student Research Showcase in the CIR Conference Wing. This come‑and‑go event highlighted cutting‑edge projects conducted by CIR students and researchers. Participants presented posters, engaged with faculty, staff, and peers, and showcased their research that is shaping the future of engineering.
The showcase also supported student development by offering opportunities to practice communication skills, gain academic presentation experience, and foster collaborations across the TEES, TTI, and TAMU communities.
We are grateful to everyone who participated, presented, and supported this year’s Engineering Week events! The energy, creativity, and collaboration displayed by our students and researchers made the day truly memorable.
Seeing this strong momentum, CIR is already looking forward to next year’s celebration and we can’t wait to see the innovative ideas, impactful research, and community spirit that 2027 Engineering Week will bring!
