On December 15, 2020, three (3) Center for Infrastructure Renewal (CIR) researchers and their research teams were presented with the Engineering Genesis Award for Multidisciplinary Research. This award is presented to TEES researchers who have secured significant research grants of $1 million or more. The CIR members who were received this honor included: Zachary Grasley, Amy E Martin and James Wall.

Dr. Zachary Grasley is the director of the CIR and a professor in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. His research focuses on the mechanics and thermodynamics of concrete and cementitious materials.

Dr. Amy E Martin is a TEES researcher and professor in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department, who specializes in the performance and specifications of pavement materials along with finding sustainable pavement materials.

Dr. James Wall is the Executive Director of the Texas A&M Center for Applied Technologies (TCAT) and oversees the various research departments at TCAT. Dr. Wall is also involved with the Innovation Proving Ground (IPG) test and experimentation facility.
