Mission

The CIR’s mission is to be the national leader in the development of transformative infrastructure solutions.

CIR innovations lead the way in:

  • Better, longer lasting infrastructure
  • Faster and more efficient construction
  • Cheaper—lower lifecycle costs and sustainable solutions

We are dedicated to solving industry infrastructure-engineering problems through research and workforce development. The CIR boasts several labs that focus on critical infrastructure sectors like roads and bridges, pipeline systems, materials and waste, advanced manufacturing, and the electrical grid.

Consortia

Standardization of Methods in Additive Manufacturing in Corrosion (SMAMC)

The SMAMC strives to develop novel tools to mitigate and evaluate the impact of corrosion by advancing the research into methodologies, materials and approaches to improve and assist in the materials selection and processing method options that will produce the optimal results in terms of reliability.
