Dr. Surya S. C. Congress will be part of this year’s AirWorks conference

August 14, 2020 by Kathrine Bradshaw

DroneDr. Surya S. C. Congress, associate research scientist with Geotechnical and Unbound Materials Innovation Lab , will be part of this year’s AirWorks conference where he was invited to deliver a lecture on drones. His session, titled Novel Approach for Monitoring Transportation Infrastructure Assets Using UAV-CRP Technology, covers some case studies demonstrating the feasibility of using unmanned aerial vehicles close-range photogrammetry (UAV-CRP) technology for health monitoring of transportation infrastructure assets like pavements, bridges, and railroads.

Dr. Congress works in the Geotechnical and Unbound Materials Lab at the Center for Infrastructure Renewal (CIR). This lab focuses on researchers investigating soils, stabilization, and rehabilitation techniques that can be implemented in both the short and long term.

AirWorks enables participants to exchange ideas, gain more control of drone technology, and steer the future development of the industry. This year’s conference is being held virtually from August 25th – 28th, 2020.
