Energy & Power Research Day

March 28, 2023 by Pamela Mize

The Energy & Power Research Days are organized to showcase research projects and to facilitate discussions with industry. These events are co-sponsored by the Smart Grid Center (SGC) of Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) and the Energy and Power Group (EPG) of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The 2022 Research Day was a great success! The location of the event is the Center for Infrastructure Renewal (CIR) on the RELLIS campus of the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS).

For intensive discussions with industry, the sessions this year will include an industry workshop of the DOE project titled “Physics-Aware and AI-Enabled Cyber-Physical Intrusion Response for the Power Grid“ for developing a scalable cyber-physical optimal response engine (SCORE). This $2.7M project including cost share was awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (DOE CESER) program for 3 years starting in late 2022. The SCORE project led by PI: K. Davis (TAMU); Co-PIs: A. Goulart (TAMU), S. Zonouz (GaTech), R. Bobba (OSU), S. Mohan (GWU), R. Berthier (Network Perception), J. Camilleri (PSC Consulting), B. Johnson (TDi), H. Balouz (EPE).

Program

The time frame of the technical program is from 9 am and until 4 pm with lunch included. In addition to the presentations, the event will provide an opportunity for hands-on activities at the Control Room Lab and Training Room. The agenda can be downloaded here.
