The Center for Infrastructure Renewal (CIR) hosted its inaugural CIR Advisory Panel (CAP) meeting Oct. 21. This virtual event brought together CIR researchers, Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) and CAP members. Guests included the Vice Chancellor and Dean of Engineering, Dr. M. Katherine Banks, TTI director, Greg Winfree, associate vice chancellor, Dr. Dimitris Lagoudas, TTI deputy director, Bill Stockton and other members of TAMU engineering leadership. Those serving on the CAP provide guidance and advice on infrastructure industry educational needs, program and development opportunities, and connections to additional resources.
During the CAP meeting, members were taken on a virtual tour of the center by Dr. Zach Grasley, CIR director, and Dr. Anand Puppala, CIR associate director with input from center researchers. John Barton and Greg Baker were elected by CAP members to serve as the first Chair and Vice-Chair.
To further showcase current and ongoing center research projects for members, the CIR sponsored the 2020 Fall Poster Session. Of the posters submitted, three were selected as the student poster session winners. Congratulations to Amit Gajurel, Aditi Pandey and Sivaranjani Seetharaman for their outstanding efforts!
The next CAP meeting to be held in spring 2021.
